WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LIMES, GRAB TEQUILA, AND MAKE MARGARITAS
September 16, 2015
Today we’re raising our margaritas in toast to "El dia del grito" (September 15th at night), a national holiday celebrating Mexican Independence day (Sept 16th) from the Spanish colonies. Not to be confused with Cinco de Mayo (May 5th), Cinco de Mayo is the anniversary of the famous battle of Puebla, during one of Mexico’s serial civil wars of the 19th century. The holiday celebrates the defeat of the occupying French army and its conservative Mexican allies at the hand of liberal Mexican forces.
4 SUSTAINABLE BRANDS YOU WILL LOVE

Triple Z Threadz is Limbo’s brother brand (like a weird brother who makes slightly inappropriate jokes at family dinner) of upcycled vintage pearl snap shirts. Each shirt is hand picked, then embroidered locally using Eco-friendly Sakura rayon thread. 20 billion pounds of clothing is thrown away each year in the United States, which means buying Triple Z Threadz saves a shirt from dying a cold, lonely death in a landfill.
OUR EASTERN ADVENTURE | PART 2: Phú Quốc & Hội An
April 15, 2015
The last night we were in Hoi An we took ourselves on an amazing food tour. There is a woman wearing a grass couli hat that says “Grilled Pork.” Seating is offered on small plastic stools. These smoky tender pork satays were amazing. Skewed on lemongrass, they were served with rice paper, fresh lettuces and herbs.
OUR EASTERN ADVENTURE | PART I: Sài Gòn (Saigon)

“Describe Vietnam in one word” says my husband. “Ngon,” I reply – the Vietnamese word meaning delicious.“And you?” I ask. Edson mimics the sound of a scooter’s horn, “beep! beep!” No surprise, as the preferred mode of transportation in Vietnam is a scooter speeding through the streets of Vietnam, ignoring street signs, lights, and any oncoming traffic (foot or motorized). This all fitting the bill for his need for speed and fast-paced risk-taking.
